Jeffery Wells, supposedly a well known writer/critic in our line of work was lucky enough to see a locked screening of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. With the great chance to see such a film, one would think that something positive would come from his little blurb about the screening found here. But all I have seen is a bunch of people complaining or asking if anyone cares about the movies running time.
The movie is running around 2 hours and 20 minutes long. While this is a little on the larger size, did anyone complain about the LOTR movies reaching around 3 hours or Braveheart? I don’t see why this is an issue.
NOW, if the movies sucks then I will see an issue, but who is behind the movie gives me enough faith in the project that I could care less on how long its running. Make it 3 hours and make it rock!
More links below on all of the folks who are asking a question that I think no one cares about…
Do you all think that 140 minutes is to long?

2 hours is more than appropriate for an indiana jones film. Personally, I enjoy longer movies, as long as they are good.
There are many loose ends left with the indy series and I am sure that it was a sueez to fit it in that amount of time.

The movie will only seem long if there are dead spots in plot and action. Otherwise I don’t see a problem. The original three were all close to if not over the 2 hour mark. The only one that will care are the Theatre owners as they can get more runs per day if the run time is low. Those high run times screw up the scheduel…BUT they will have it on four or five screens so it will make up the money difference.

Whilst I’m not a huge fan of long movies, I do think Indiana Jones has an ‘epic’ quality to it, that could justify the running time.

I still think it deserves the two hour spot. it is a full 20 minutes longer than the others.
