A First Glimpse at Duncan Jones’ Mute

Duncan Jones’ Moon was one of the best films of the summer (read my bit about it here), so it’s great to see the burgeoning director have a clear vision of his next project.

Mute is Jones’ thematic and stylistic homage to Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner, and it shows in this piece of concept art from the website of Liberty Films, the production house behind the film.

According to Chud.com,

Mute is set in a near-future Berlin where a mute bartender is searching for his girlfriend. This film actually takes place in  the same universe as Moon, and Sam Rockwell will be making a cameo appearance.

I don’t know where that last tidbit of info came from, but rest assured I’m excited. Keep an eye on Liberty Films for updates, and if you’re on Twitter follow Duncan Jones himself at @ManMadeMoon.

This sounds very interesting to say the least. Blade Runner was/is a great film.
