Mia Wasikowska, the Australian actress soon to be seen in Amelia and as the lead in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, is in final discussions to join the cast of Gus Van Sant’s new project, Restless. Van Sant is the director of Elephant and the Oscar-winning Milk. Restless will be made through Columbia Pictures.
So far, Wasikowska is the only actor cast in the film, which center around “the complex tale of a teenage boy and girl who share a preoccupation with mortality.” Sounds like Van Sant’s sort of thing.
