Well here this reporter was thinking that the worst kind of heart-wrenching remakes would be along the lines of Fright Night & Flight of the Navigator, but once again I am proven wrong. 20th Century Fox decided to take advantage of the 30th anniversary of the classic Sci-fi movie Alien and completely turn it around into a remake. Originally released in 1979 and directed by Ridley Scott, Alien circles around a mining ship, investigating a suspected SOS, lands on a distant planet. The crew discovers some strange creatures and investigates.
Not only is this going to get the remake treatment just like many other films at this point in time, but Ridley & Tony Scott, along with Michael Costigan are all attached to produce with Carl Rinsch being tapped as director. At the moment, thankfully for the time being, this is still swirling around as possible rumor. Other reports have been coughing out that this could be a possible prequel, but with the overall storyline that the original Alien holds, it would be nearly impossible to do. Once this is confirmed or denied as a rumor, all of us here at Atomic Popcorn will keep you avid readers informed.
