And Then There Were Ten

There can only be one!..not ten.

There can only be one!..not ten.

For those of you who still keep in touch with the annual Academy Awards, or more so still watch them, one of the most coveted parts of the awards is the one for Best Picture. During the last couple of years, there has been quite a few complains in regards of who makes it to the final cut of the five finalists for this category. The more controversial of the decisions comes in place with last year when Warner Bros. The Dark Knight got snubbed for the Best Picture Oscar.

Now there’s going to be even more room to spread around, and instead of expanding the Academy member’s viewpoints of what could actually make it in the five finalists regardless of how mainstream it is, they turn the five finalists into ten. It was bad enough dealing with all sorts of people who clashed with the top five, now that there will be even more selection it’s practically anyone’s game. Sure the lesser known films (The Hurt Locker) could get a better chance of appearing as a potential Oscar nomination, but the promotions will go even more nuts than before and the Academy will still hope and pray that they can still wrangle in viewers (remember? like last year!).
