Angels and Demons Trailer

I must say that I have been looking forward to this since I first heard about it. I read the book prior to it becoming a fad to read Dan Brown novels and really enjoyed it. It was right up my alley. The intrigue, the Vatican conspiracy, the blood, the thrill. Great book! With that said, I don’t expect much from the film at all. While I am excited to see it, I know how it ends and what is in the middle so I can’t expect much. Especially since Jeff Bridges would be my Robert Langdon, not Tom Hanks.

For those of you who do not know much about this book/film here is the official plot:

When a murder of a physicist, Leonardo Vetra, finds a symbolist, Robert Langdon, and Mr. Vetra’s daughter, Vittoria, on an adventure for a secret brotherhood, The Illuminati. Clues lead them all around the Vatican, including the four alters of science, Earth, Air, Fire and Water. An Assassin working for the Illuminati, have captured four cardinals, and murders each, painfully. Robert and Vittoria also are searching for a new very destructive weapon that could kill millions.

Below is the full trailer released for the upcoming film adaptation.

Angels and Demons opens nationwide in May. Are you excited to see this or what? Do you think this looks better than The Davinci Code?

WHY, Why, why….WHY…would they cast Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon??? He is shockingly bad as that character. Film looks to be another damp squid unless Ewan becomes it’s saving glory.

Why all the Hanks hate? Having read both books, I thought that he did a very good job in the role, although I agree his casting was purely a money-making move (as if DVC needed that anyway).

Still, this is one of my top three most anticipated movies of the year and this new trailer was perfect. It is superior to DVC, but I hope the studio doesn’t try to push the PG-13 rating, cause the book was definitely R material.

  3. I didn’t even bother to post this trailer. I didn’t really like the first film and this film just seems more action based, which could be a good thing.

However, since this is the book prior to DVC, I might pick it up some time.

  4. You should get your hands on Dune by Frank Herbert. That is a entertaining read.
