6. Rocky IV:
Rocky kicking some Russian ass – this movie can make me cry in a matter of minutes. Great all around movie and a great great fight scene. Gloves and all!

No Bourne scenes? I cry foul.

  2. Matthew says:

Bourne definitely was possibly 11 for many of the fight scenes. I think these hold something a bit more dear to my heart is all.
    Great idea though!

How about a clip from The Thai Chi Master, possibly Jet Li's finest work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHKQ4swaIcw
And with it, a clip from Drunken Master 2, possibly Jackie Chan's finest work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4ctc5jmE1M

  4. Matthew says:

Great stuff Spencer, thanks for the links!

Good list Matt. I like the inclusion of the Snatch here, that was a fun fight, and gibson vs. busey is always welcome. The Crouching Tiger battle through the bamboo is my favorite of the ones you had here.

    Nice work.

A few fights I would have included:

The lightsaber duel from Empire Strikes Back:

The battle between Ripley and the Queen in Aliens:

    Kong vs. the V-rex:

  7. Matthew says:

Definitely agree with some of those, just not in my top 10 is all!

  8. Marcos says:

I have to add a few more that should have been on the list:

Jet Li in “The Black Mask”

    Christian Bale in “Equilibrium”

Jean Claude Van Damme in “Kick Boxer”

    James Caan in “The Godfather”

Lets redue the list !!!! lol

  9. Johnny Simpson says:

I don't know how far back you're going, but one of the best (if not THE best) fight scenes in film was the train fight between Sean Connery and Robert Shaw in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. Five minutes of pure violent life-and-death scrapping finished off with a garotte. Good stuff, M8!

  10. plus1 says:

I guess the point is that a fight scene is made up of different elements. Are we talking hand-to-hand/martial arts, weapons, or a combination of both? For me, I have to say that one fight sequence I could watch over and over would be from the Chuck Norris classic, “Lone Wolf McQuade” from 1983, the end fight between Karate champ Norris and Kung-Fu champ David Carradine.

If you're going to include weapons then one that was previously mentioned was Chris Bale in “Equilibrium” and the sword/gun-fu fight is up there.

  12. TommyboyHD says:

Grosse Point Blank corridor scene for realism and for pure entertainment the last 15 minutes of warrior king is just pure video game proportion fighting

  13. Nearlyburly says:

Good list, but for me the best fight scene is the roof top fight in Jackie Chan’s Who Am I? The choreography is fast and furious, the martial arts display superb and just enough comedy to make take the scene from simply explosive to explosively entertaining.
