I personally think that the half blood prince was the worst movie of the lot. I was lloking forward to seeing it and was extremely disappointed by the movie. If you hadn’t read the book, you would’ve thought the entire book was about “snogging” which we who read the book knew was not true. Hardly anything in this movie resembled the book…really disappointing!!

MASSIVE SPOILERS BELOW DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN IT! THOUGH TO BE HONEST THE PLOT IS PRETTY COMMON KNOWLEDGE WHAT WITH THE BOOKS BEING SUCH BEST SELLERS, SO IF ANYTHING I SAY IS NEW TO YOU READ THE DAMN BOOKS!

The fact that they didn’t have a battle at the end with the other students was a bit of a let down, but the harry potter series is so complex the films can only really get 25% of the content in the book. So I can forgive them really.

But there should have been a lot more angst when Harry nearly killed Malfoy i mean in the book he was pretty torn up about it, but in the film he just kinda moved onto snogging Ginny.

However number 5 is still my favourite, followed by 3/6

If WB delay the next one though i won’t be able to take the strain.

Glad to see more critics finding the 6th movie to be a lot of fun and, once again, a quality piece of film. I still hold “Azkaban” as the high water mark for not only its style and tone but because it so perfectly served as a transition away from the cute kid-oriented Columbus pics towards what we’ve come to now with Yates’ work.

However, I agree for the moment that this latest film is my favorite, but I fully recognize that a lot of the thinking that goes into that is the ability to combine all the past films’ character developments into this one … without the first 5, this would still be a great film, but it wouldn’t be able to capture my attention quite so well.

Now someone make sure that WB doesn’t delay the release dates on the final two films … I can’t take another 6 month postponement!

honestly, people who read the book must have been disappointed, and people who didnt read the book probably had no clue what was going on. not only did they leave out what i thought to be the best parts of the book (the memories) but lacked crucial scenes that would help watchers understand better. they practically changed the story. when people go to see a movie of a book they have read, they wish to see a visual potrayal of the story, nothing more or drastically different. i cant believe j.k. rowling approved of this.
