"Damn you Berg! You got me at B7!"
Peter Berg, the protege of Public Enemies director Michael Mann, will be ready to figure out which letter and number his opponent’s naval ship is. With the six year deal being used to its full potential from Hasbro/Universal Pictures, Battleship will be the latest board game to ship its way onto the big screen. Jon and Erich Hoeber, who both are also writing an adaptation of American McGee’s Alice, are both down for writing the script to this particular film.
Of course the story will be a naval action adventure flick, how could it not with the original board game premise? Producing it is Brian Goldner (Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen) and Bennett Schneir (Monster House) on behalf of Hasbro. This board game turned movie is not the first in recent memory, also including on the list is Ouija Board, Ridley Scott’s Monopoly and Kevin Lima’s Candy Land.
