Bill Birch, actor turned writer who’s been on a number of television shows, is making his mark with the DC comic book adaptation of Shazam! Better known as Captain Marvel, this DC comic book character is a radio news reporter turned superhero when he utters the words ‘shazam’, the name of the wizard who granted him the larger than life powers. It is pretty ironic enough that Birch would be attached to this, his name very similar to Captain Marvel’s alter ego named Billy Batson.
Geoff Johns is also co-writing along with Birch with the new script. Attached to direct is Peter Segal with Michael Ewing producing. Currently there has been no casting announcements to the project, with the utter obviousness of the script still in development.
