Madea Spanks the Jonas Brothers

In a surprising finish for the weekend at the box office, Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes To Jail in a landslide beats out Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. Although the trio landed on the #2 spot, expectations of their overall bank for this past weekend were a million less than predicted.
Continuing on with another first weekend opener, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li ended with bad reviews and barely scrapping in a little over 4 million. Can we say possible box office bomb, or can we just confirm it at this point?

With the latest Best Picture Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire already widespread into more theaters, it definitely has caught the attention of many who have not seen the film to flood to the matinees. Showing up with an overall total (so far) of $115 million and counting, it definitely has earned back the $15 mil it took to make the actual picture.
