Nicolas Cage is not literally a hungry rabbit but has hopped on board to star in The Hungry Rabbit Jumps. Believe it or not, the film is actually a thriller, centering on a man whose wife is the victim of a brutal crime. He subsequently becomes entangled with an underground vigilante organization. The feature is written by Robert Tannen with Roger Donaldson, director of “The Bank Job”, helming the pic.
Hungry Rabbit Jumps will be under Maguire Entertainment, the production company from actor Tobey Maguire. Even though the Spider-Man actor will not be in front of the camera, he will be behind it serving as producer along with Jenno Topping, Ram Bergman and Jim Stern. Filming will start in January of 2010, no word yet on a settled release date. Currently Nicolas Cage is attached to a slew of projects, from Michael Gondry’s The Green Hornet, Kick Ass to the animated feature Astro Boy that comes out this October.
