Clive Owen and Catherine Keener Have Trust Issues
When I see a cast lined up that includes both Clive Owen and Catherine Keener, I’m already excited without even knowing what the project is. Owen, to me, is one of the very few remaining actors who carry themselves with the sort of gruff authority that leading men were required to have in the 60s and 70s, while Keener turns in stunning work in every film she’s a part of, from Capote to The 40-Year-Old Virgin to Where the Wild Things Are.
Now, former Friends cast member David Schwimmer has added the two to his cast of Trust, which deals with “the damaging effects an online sexual predator has on a family.” The film will be produced by Millennium Films, which seems to be taking off quite nicely in the past several years with high profile projects like Rambo.

According to Variety:
“Owen and Keener will play the parents of a 14-year-old girl who are stunned to discover she has been victimized by an adult who gained her trust posing as a teenager on a chat room. Newcomer Liana Liberato will play the daughter.”
Pretty heavy stuff. The film begins production on November 9, 2009 in Michigan. The screenwriter of the film is currently unknown. Schwimmer’s last output was the mediocre Run Fatboy Run, which seems as far from Trust in tone as possible. Schwimmer seems to be taking the Ben Affleck Gone Baby Gone approach to distinguishing himself from the rest of the pack.
