Production on Courteney Cox’s latest try at a sitcom, Cougar Town, has halted due to Cox dealing with a “family matter”. According to an ABC rep, via People, “We can confirm production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter.”
While I am sure this doesn’t break many of your hearts, the show will go on. The folks at ABC have ordered 22 of these episodes and with the three already filmed, we have 11 episodes to look forward to in the future.
A few ideas during this time would be for the show to focus on other characters. That doesn’t seem like the intent so far, but it would really open up the show to more than just Courtney. While the supporting characters aren’t all that entertaining, it could lead to something more complete, rather than focusing on just the life of one main character.
Sort of something such as Lost.
