Well there has been a ton of buzz from the internets this morning due to the release of many trailers in the last few days. We have the Transformers 2 final trailer, we have the G.I. Joe French trailer, and now we have the District 9 trailer. A Cloverfield style film from Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp.
What do we know so far about this film? Not much to be honest. It’s got aliens in it, its got a shaky came for some of it, a first person view similar to Cloverfield but not as nauseating. The synopsis is this: An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions in Johannesburg, South Africa suddenly find a “kindred spirit” in a government agent that is exposed to their mysterious biotechnology.
I do feel like we may have another winner on our hands but I also feel maybe, just maybe it may be something we have seen already. We shall see.
With the viral marketing that is sure to get bigger now that we have the trailer, the website, the random photos around the net, it seems they are marketing it correctly. I will see it for sure.
