“What the film has going for it is the acting. It’s pretty good. Allison Lohman does a good job at the role of Christie, as she makes the character likable, and rootable.”

I have to respectfully disagree with this part. By the time the movie was halfway over, I hated this character. The suspense was dead for me because I WANTED her to be dragged to hell. I don’t want to go into specifics and ruin crucial plot points for anyone, but for me, this character had three major strikes. I found her selfish, whiny, and a little too willing to let others suffer for her mistakes.

I enjoyed the premise of this film and might have ranked it highly if Raimi hadn’t gone out of his way to make his title character unlikeable.

A definite lousy review. I agree with James. Seems like the review was made based on the film trailer.

Great mixture of scares and laughs? Perhaps barely less than 25% of the movie was that…sure. But the rest of it was complete boredom. Nothing like classic Raimi… sorry but I agree with this review 100%. You really must too young to fully understand the classic Raimi. No offense, that’s why it was PG-13 so you could enjoy the movie with your friends.
