Anvil is more than just an anvil you’d see land on a random cartoon character, but this kind of Anvil is a rock band. Anvil! The Story of Anvil is a documentary of sorts that made its way from film festivals for the past year and finally making its way onto the big screen (for limited release). The story is about best friends Robb Reiner and Lips who made a pact to rock together forever. Their band, Anvil, hailed as the “demi-gods of Canadian metal,” influenced a musical generation that includes Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, despite never hitting the big time. Following a calamatous European tour, Lips and Robb, now in their fifties, set off to record their 13th album in one last attempt to fulfill their boyhood dreams.

Not only will this be released April 10th in Los Angeles and New York (with more to follow during this month), but they will be going through a small U.S. tour starting on Monday, April 6th in NYC.
