Fraser getting ready to kiss more creatures
If anyone actually remembers any of the films that were released around the time of The Dark Knight, one of the films that popped out with 3D goodness was the Brendan Fraser powered Journey To The Center Of The Earth. Based off of the ever popular Jules Verne novel of the same name, this 4th attempt at an adaptation did surprisingly make a fair amount of bank ($101 Million to be exact) in order to slowly but surely greenlight a sequel.
Mysterious Travels: The Lost Map of Treasure Island (yes, I know, I know) is penned by Richard Outten (Little Nemo: Adventures In Slumberland). The story is around Professor Trevor Anderson and his nephew end up taking part on a ‘mysterious travel’ that takes them to a ‘mysterious’ island where all sorts of mayhem will ensue.
Practically nobody has signed on for the sequel yet, but throw a few bucks in front of Brendan Fraser and he’ll jump all over the place as much as he did in Encino Man. There is no release date set for this film, or much of anything else for it at the moment.
