Jake Gyllenhaal will star in a film adaptation of the hit video game series Prince Of Persia. The title is said to be Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time so one can assume the game will likely use that as the basis for it’s movie. Gemma Arterton will co-star with Gyllenhaal to stop some evil Persian ruler from a sandstorm catastrophe. Ben Kinglsey and Alfred Molina will also be in it. The film is due out in summer 2010.
What to say that I haven’t already said about video game adaptation movies? Hollywood simply will not learn that video games & movies don’t mix. This one can’t possibly go over well when the star of a Prince Of Persia movie isn’t even I don’t know PERSIAN! This is like having a Batman movie where Batman isn’t really Bruce Wayne. They are aware they are making Prince Of Persia and not Prince Of Sweden right?
