It’s About Time! Kevin Smith Panel

Your probably thinking to yourself,” Melissa, what the hell? You put up Zombieland, 2012 and Iron Man 2 within seconds after the panels ended, and you can’t at least put up a little bit for Kevin Smith right away?” Due to covering a lot of stuff that Saturday and taking a crapload of pictures, not only did I reach full capacity on my camera a third into the Smith panel but my computer died. From these lovely list of problems, I still have some small video footage of the Kevin Smith panel along with quite some notes on what he touched base upon.

• During the panel Smith touched base upon what his next project will be, a hockey movie of sorts, and that the title of it will be called Hit Somebody.
• He constantly calls his upcoming movie, A Couple of Dicks, “Lethal Weapon but with 60 percent less action.”
• He still complains about the guy from Comic-Con 07. I’m surprised he still even remembers him, especially since he didn’t show up to say a smart ass comment. Smith brings himself down saying that he proved the guy right with the not-so-great domestic release numbers of Zack and Miri Make A Porno.
• Kevin brings up the Twilight Saga: New Moon clips and everyone starts to boo, yelling obscenities about how crappy the movie is. Smith starts comparing it to the old Hustler magazines, inches away from it being full blown out porn of the teen kind. Then he goes on about how Robert Pattinson should take full advantage of the popularity and hook up with some cougars.
• The question about the censoring of the title for Zack & Miri and possibly for A Couple of Dicks could be. He mentions how all the channels that will show the TV spots in the future will show the full title but some of them will only be shown after 9 at night. His reasoning for it,” Were all still paying for Janet’s tit, that boob haunts me.”
• He explains about why Bruce Willis did not show up to Comic-Con, and after asking him if he wanted to go one time he believes Bruce thought he actually said ‘Commi Con’.
• He goes on about how the Green Hornet comic will be released around Christmas/New Years on comic stands, and how its his only way to show off his script that he feels nobody wanted.
• He describes A Couple of Dicks in some more wording,” Abbott and Castella movie with guns and violence and sh*t.”
• When someone brings up a question about him kicking someone’s ass in Celebrity boxing, people start shouting random names to him (particularly Robert Pattinson and Jennifer Garner for some reasons), but he claims no matter what he’d get his ass kicked.
• Kevin expresses how much he respects The Dark Knight but not Christian Bale’s voice that was tweaked when he was Batman. He continues to make fun of it for a full couple of minutes.
• Someone shoots him a question about hiring Nicolas Cage in one of his movies, he then continues on saying how he never thought he could be able to hire someone like that, in a sense living the dream of that ‘best movie’ that he’d want to make and showing how sad it is in a comedical sense.
• Smith is apparently surprising himself with the dailies that he’s seen so far for Dicks. He’s hyping us up by saying it,” looks like a slick Hollywood movie and sh*t”. Hope it doesn’t disappoint Mr. Smith.
