Oddly enough, the reviews I'm seeing from people who are NOT fans seem to be more glowing than from those who are. People new to the show are enjoying an exciting sci-fi action film. The old fans are more divided--some are willing to try something new, while some despise any changes from the original. I'm a fan, and I enjoyed it. But I think it suffers from being an introduction. There wasn't time for complicated philosophy and thoughtful discovery. This time, we just had to meet everybody. But I got the impression that the ideals of the original were respected, and if we give this team time, they will grow into something amazing.
