Rob Marshall, director of the new movie Nine (the romance story, not the animated one) might end up being the one to help load up the cannons for Pirates of the Caribbean 4. Already this ship will set sail immediately with Johnny Depp back on board playing the eccentric and comical Captain Jack Sparrow. Disney is already hurrying up with the possibility of doing more Pirates movies, for fear that their cash cow of sorts Depp will flock over to The Lone Ranger once initial filming gets closer for him. On top of that, Disney is looking for a director in the fist place thanks to the absence of director Gore Verbinski who’s sinking his claws on Bioshock.
Marshall is an interesting choice already, his blatant focus from the stage to behind a camera does make some people question how he would do being in the chair for a behemoth franchise such as this. At this point too one wonders where exactly the Pirates of the Caribbean story can go with the wide amount of possibilities that the last film (At World’s End) opened up for audiences. Breaking all sorts of records worldwide all spawning from its sleeper hit status with the 2003 film, based off a Disneyland park ride, this franchise energizer bunny of sorts is still liable to make even more waves with future movies.
