Miley Cyrus to Grow ‘Wings’ For Disney

16-year-old Disney princess, Miley Cyrus, is set to star in the screen adaptation of Aprilynne Pike’s young adult novel Wings.

Cyrus will play Laurel, a teen who discovers she is a fairy sent among humans to guard the gateway to Avalon. As if learning you’re a mythological creature isn’t bad enough, witness Laurel as she goes from being a sheltered/home-schooled girl to dealing with the complexities of attending a public high school.

Marty Bowen and Wick Godfrey (Twilight,  New Moon) will produce.

No word on who will be directing the Disney film.

Miley Cyrus’ last big screen adventure was in Hannah Montana: The Movie, which opened with $32.3 million.
