‘New Moon’ Rife With Mistakes

For as large and intense as the Twilight fanbase is, you’d think the makers of New Moon would have expected that viewers Twilight New Moon teaser movie posterwould be going over the movie’s details with a fine-tooth comb and done everything to ensure there were no mistakes in the film.

Or maybe they just assumed the largely female crowd of fans would be too distracted by Robert Pattinson’s smoldering gaze and Taylor Lautner’s chiseled abs to notice any discrepancies.

Either way, the makers of New Moon did seem to overlook a few details.

Moviemistakes.com, a site that catalogs errors in movies, has added a total of 17 mistakes from the new Twilight sequel.

Among the most obvious mistakes are:

- Continuity: After Bella awakes from the first nightmare, we see her Romeo and Juliet on the pillow beside her. When Charlie comes in the book is gone, but then reappears on the pillow between shots.

- The rims of the vampires’ contact lenses can be spotted occasionally during the film, especially in the Volturis’ eyes during the final scenes.

- Continuity: When Bella goes to Italy to save Edward, Alice drops Bella off . When Bella gets out of the car to ask where Edward will be, she is in front of the car door, but then the shot cuts and she is suddenly behind the door.

-Bella flies to Italy on a Virgin America plane. Virgin America only flies within certain cities in the US. The plane should have been Virgin Atlantic, which flies from the US to Europe.

No movie is perfect. Of course, there are going to be errors. Name me one movie that is actually perfect from beginning to end when it comes to technical things. To me, there's no such thing as the "perfect" movie because you have to realize that there's a lot that goes into making a movie and with all the hard work they put into making this movie, I'm willing to overlook those minor mistakes. Had it been a movie where it was just really crappy like Plan 9 From Outer Space, then I wouldn't be as forgiving. Here's my advice, for people who like the Twilight Saga, just enjoy the movies because they're entertainment. Don't be so nitpicking when it comes to the technical errors.

I agree with DeadLikeMe89. When has there ever been a perfect movie. Those that don't like the films just want something to complain about as usual. Fans: enjoy the film and you will be pleased. IGNORE the MINOR insignifcent details. They don't make that much of a difference to the movie!
  • Your right the movie still is terrible and should of gone straight to DVD.

In the book Bella and Alice initially flew from Forks to the east coast (Atlanta or NYC, forgive me I can remember) before transfering to a flight to Italy... So actually the Virgin America plane would be correct.

seriously?? i don't really care about these stupid little details. i mean who is gonna pay that much attention. i wasn't even looking for a romeo and juliet book. and the airplane? you've got to be kiddding me. who knows what plane flies where? i didn't even pay attention to the name of the plane she flew on. this is just something to try and make the movie look bad. it was actually really good and i loved the changes, but i also loved how they stayed true to the book. it was a nice middle-ground.
