Just a few days ago, we let you know that Bourne director Paul Greengrass had walked away from Bourne 4. There were three possible options we left you with, regarding what would happen with the movie without Greengrass attached– one being that Matt Damon wouldn’t remain on the project without Greengrass.

Well, it looks like that’s going to be the case.

At this morning’s press conference for his upcoming film Invictus, Matt Damon addressed Greengrass’s leaving when asked about it.

When asked what the status of Bourne is now that Greengrass has left, Damon responded that he’s uninterested in reprising his role as Jason Bourne unless Greengrass is directing. He did say that he thinks it will end up happening, that Greengrass will return once a solid script is in place.

For now though, it looks like Universal is either going to have to hold off on moving forward with the film and keep their fingers crossed that Greengrass comes back, or simply say forget it and move on without both Greengrass and Damon, or just scrap the movie altogether.
