Oliver Back On Wall Street

Mr. Gekko returns back to his office

Finally the rumors can come to rest. Oliver Stone has jumped back in the director’s seat once again to helm the sequel to the 1987 film, Wall Street. In the mix for the sequel already is not only Michael Douglas, who is appearing in this week’s latest release of The Ghost of Girlfriend’s Past, who won the Oscar for Best Actor for the original drama but Shia LaBeouf to co-star with the experienced actor.

The sequel will once again involve a young Wall Street trader, and the recent economic meltdown spurred by rampant greed and corruption will fit prominently into the plot. Allan Loeb, the writer of 21, will be penning the script to the upcoming sequel. No set date yet for the upcoming economy-driven drama. Keep your eyes set for the latest updates on this film among many others here on Atomic Popcorn.

I’m looking forward to this one as it will be interesting to see Gordon Gekko revived but it kind of sounds like it’s going to have the same idea just set in the modern time.
