South Korean pop star Rain, the familiar face from the lucid dream named Speed Racer, has found an awesome lead role in James McTeigue’s Ninja Assassin. It’s a super bloody, action packed movie that brings thoughts of the old school Ninja movies back to the forefront of my mind.
Plot:
“Raizo (Rain) is one of the world’s deadliest assassins, having been kidnapped as a child and raised by the Ozunu Clan, believed by the world to be a myth. When Raizo’s friend is executed by the clan, Raizo flees into hiding. He later reemerges, seeking revenge. Meanwhile, Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) is a Europol agent who investigates money linked to political murders and finds that it is linked to the Ozunu Clan. She defies her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), and retrieves secret agency files to find out more. The clan, finding out about the investigation, attempts to assassinate her, but she is rescued by Raizo. Hiding in Europe, Raizo and Mika must find a way to take down the Ozunu Clan.”
Enjoy the trailer below:
I must say after Kill Bill, I thought that the story/action combo for the “ninja” genre would be lost for a while again. After seeing the trailer, I feel like this movie has a lot to offer us in many different ways. Rain may be a star across the world but after this movie, he is sure to be a world-wide star for sure.

i fall in love with rain after watching the trailer .
the moive should be great .
the boy’s (Raizo) image different from the past… so bloody and violent, I think will attract many martial arts fans and male fans.maybe he is constantly changing in a good direction, only change can keep up with their own in order to create a miracle. look forward to….. i wish him well in his career, getting better and better.
I would agree he seems more of an actor now, but this film looks fantastic so far. Looking forward to it.
Rain only played as a supporting role in Speed Racer.
Now, he is a main role in Ninja Assassin.
He is going to have more scripts and performance.
Look at his 6-pack muscle, he received 6 months training in Berlin for this movie.
I totally fall on Rain after this trailer. Can’t wait!
