In a world where television seems to spawn a new reality series every week, it was only a matter of time before the reality gamut finally made it’s way to the big screen.
This spring, television viewers went crazy over the angelic voice of homely Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent. Before Boyle, though, there was Paul Potts who won the first season of the show with his equally breathtaking voice.
Now, Paramount will be beginning production of One Chance, the story of Potts’s journey from cell phone salesman, to Britain’s Got Talent contestant and winner, to YouTube singing sensation.
Not to let the series that made Potts a star be forgotten, Paramount is utilizing a clever marketing ploy, releasing the film around the same time as next summer’s season of Britain’s Got Talent. Reality television personality Simon Cowell will be producing the film.
