John Hughes, whose movies were one of the staples of the 80s with his creations like The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off among many others has passed on. He died earlier today from a heart attack at the age of 59. His films are iconic, helping make a huge string of romantic comedies he wrote, produced or directed during the eighties and the nineties. Setting up such things like the ‘Brat Pack’, and pumping up the careers of actors like Anthony Michael Hall and Molly Ringwald to name a couple, his career carried a lot of fun up points.
A majority of his films took place in suburban places of Chicago, where he grew up. Behind him he leaves the obviously big layout of films that have been seen by many. Now, because I feel like I should in memory of him and because this is one of my favorite scenes, here’s a clip from the film Pretty In Pink with everyone’s favorite stylish dancer of sorts, Duckie.
