So I know what you are saying, wait a second, wasn’t all of these casting choices just announced in the last week. Well to answer that yes they were. And now as of yesterday all news outlets are reporting that Spider-Man 4 is now canceled. So what does this mean? Who knows…here are a bunch of folks via twitter and what they have had to say about it all.

@scarletscribe YES! This news makes me so happy. I’m positively gleeful. Jubilant. Dare I say, frolicsome? No. I dare not.

@brotodeau I’m in the minority, I’m SO excited for a non-Raimi/Tobey take on Spider-Man. If it happens to be an Ultimate Spider-Man take, well, YES.

@joshtyler How Raimi et al. treated Gwen Stacy is indefensible. Now we fans don’t have to live with that!

I must say I am okay after the atrocity that was Spider-Man 3 and all that came with it.

The decision doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, considering that the rumors all pointed to Raimi and the studios arguing about the script. Last week we reported for you folks that Spider-Man’s release date had been pushed aside for Thor and  Pirates 4. This franchise is such a large one that it won’t be left out to dry BUT it could be done as we know it.
