The last time I talked about Priest was when I was ruminating about Scott Stewart (founder of The Orphanage and recent genre writer/director) and his other religiously based horror film, Legion. Like Legion, Priest has a cast headed up by Paul Bettany.
From various sources this week, it seems that Stewart’s film has gotten several major casting upgrades — first, Variety discovered that Madchen Amick would be involved in the cast, while Stewart’s own Twitter account (twitter.com/robotproof) revealed two very cool additions: Brad Dourif and Christopher Plummer.
Dourif is enough to be excited about — he’s fantastic in just about everything he touches, even David Lynch’s Dune. But with Plummer involved, the quality of the product is instantly raised by a few notches. The man just brings with him a sort of classy ambiance.
More news on Priest as it develops.
