Being a reporter, I have to be fairly unbiased when it comes to giving out the news to everyone. Dealing with heart breakers like Fright Night coming back to life on the remake slab, having to wash the awful stench of The Neverending Story remake to the head scratcher with Bride of Frankenstein, this year has not been too easy for myself. Now the lovely people at Paramount decide to go and, instead of coming out with a super cool re-release or something along those lines of a some what underrated classic, decide to go and remake the 1982 Don Bluth film The Secret of NIMH.
Really? C’mon, really?
The spruced up version is already rumored to have the hybrid thing going for it, which is live action mixed with animation around the realm of Alvin and the Chipmunks. What seems to be the now increasingly popular Neil Burger, who is already attached to The Bride of Frankenstein, is in talks to write the children’s tale. The children’s tale, Mrs. Frisbey and the Rats of NIMH, centered on the timid field mouse Mrs. Frisby who’s heroism shines for the protection of her children with the aid of the rats that escaped from the secret laboratory only known as NIMH. Whoever has ahold of this puppy, best of luck to them.

Will Don Bluth be involved with this remake?
