Ben was being a total asshole and it was completely unrealistic for Ezra to react in the way he did.  
&quot;Anger&quot; is the expected reaction when someone was saying such disgusting things.  I would say the only way that method would be reasonable is if it were used to determine how honest a person is.  
Ezra did not react in an honest way at all as he reacted in a manner which his employers would expect of him.  If anything that displays a serious lack of pride and Ben should have donated his eyes to someone who valued their life more than some awful job.
