Sharon Stone Seeks Satisfaction

Sharon Stone, the somewhat legendary sex symbol who emphasized the sex part of that term in films like Basic Instinct, has joined the cast of the U.K.-produced film Satisfaction. The film will be directed by Anya Camilleri, who’s somewhat of an unknown responsible for the Tara Reid vehicle Incubus.

Alongside Stone is Carice Van Houten, recently seen in Valkyrie as Tom Cruise’s character’s wife. The film revolves around “a young gigolo in London, who finds himself caught between a rich and manipulative older woman (Stone) and a younger woman (Van Houten).” Stone as a seductress? You don’t say.

The script for the film, which will start shooting early next year, has been penned by Simon Burke, the man behind Camilleri’s NY-LON and Persuasion. Thus, we have a crew with a predominantly small screen background working towards a theatrical break. Will it be enough to pull Stone out of a rut that culminated in the dreadful Basic Instinct 2? We can only hope.
