Film Synopsis:
Solitary Man tells the dryly funny yet all too relatable story of Ben Kalmen (Michael Douglas), a fifty-something New Yorker and former successful car dealer, who through his own bad choices lost his entire business. He’s also divorced from Nancy (Susan Sarandon), his college sweetheart and the one person who knows him better than anyone. Although he still finds the time for his daughter Susan (Jenna Fischer) and her adoring grandson, his role as more of a friend than father or grandfather is starting to wear thin on the family. His girlfriend Jordan (Mary-Louise Parker) is the daughter of a very influential businessman who’s on the board of a major auto manufacturer. If Ben can just keep his hubris in check for a little while longer, he will be back as big as ever, but some of the same motivations that lead to his demise are threatening to take him down again, and for good.

My favorite Michael Douglas film has got to be Romancing The Stone. I know it’s an oldie, but I absolutely loved the chemistry between him and Kathleen Turner, a Kathleen Turner that, like Michael Jackson when he used to be black, used to look very feminine and beautiful!
Great contest Matt! I am in!
I’ve always enjoyed The Game. It’s a fairly crazy movie with a pretty good twist at the end which makes you want to watch it again to pick up everything that is going on.
My favorite film of Michael Douglass has to be Wall Street. He commanded that role and that oscar was WELL DESERVED! Can’t wait for Wall Street 2
Ghosts of Girlfriends past, i thought he played his part amazing
Black Rain, I forgot which Scott brother directed that, but Andy Garcia’s decapitation is a classic. Also, they didn’t try to sell us him Douglas transforming into a Japanese person like in You Only Live Twice or the Last Samurai. Props
My favorite Michael Douglas film is An American President
I’d say Wonder Boys because not only is Michael Douglas great in it, but the rest of the cast is phenomonal as well,
It has to be the game, that freak Clown really got to me for weeks afterward!
I think my favorite Michael Douglas movie has to be Fatal Attraction of course!
My favorite Michael Douglass movie is Fatal Attraction.
Falling down is the first one that comes to mind….but if I take a second thought it would probably be “The Game”…I love the twisted mind of David Fincher
Favorite Michael Douglas movie is Fatal Atraction.
Without a doubt it’s THE GAME !!! Never have gotten tired of that movie!

Favorite Michael Douglas film: King of California
Such a tortured character begging for redemption and such a bittersweet end. How can you not love this film?
M. Douglas was wonderful as Gordon Gekko in Wall Street. This definitely tops my list of his movies.
would have to be fatal attraction, the wife away thought he would get some side piece….well it came with baggage!…..laughed so much that nightmare would not end
good contest

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

My favorite Michael Douglas movie is Fatal Attraction.
I would say Wall Street. Followed by Fatal Atrraction.
MY favorite would have to be Wall Street because Michale Douglas played the role of the mentor very well to Charlie Sheen while at the same time being a sleazy trader.

Hands Down.. Fatal Attraction.
Fatal Attraction – still scary.
I’ll have to go with The Game, a very under rated movie.
I love An American President, I really think he did a great job in that movie.
My favorite Michael Douglas movie is Fatal Attraction
Falling Down – dark but good.
My favorite Michael Douglas movie is The War of the Roses – darkly comic and I loved the ending!

I really liked Ghost of Girlfriends Past–great story!!
My favorite film is Falling Down.
My favorite Michael Douglas film is “Fatal Attraction”
Anything where he’s banging hot cougars, so probably “Freedom: A History of Us”
My favorite film is A Perfect Murder. He has an elaborate plan for getting rid of his wife, but in the end, she is the one who comes out on top. It’s a very interesting thriller and I think along with the Game is one of his better movies.
Favorite Michael Douglas film is Wall Street.
‘Fatal Attraction’ with ‘Wonder Boys’ as an honorable mention
My favorite by far is “The Game.” I would love to do something that extravagant for my brother on his birthday.
Whoa, this would be awesome to win, and this new movie sounds good. My fav might have to be the crazy films of all crazy relationship films….Fatal Attraction! So much tension in it. I follow on Twitter (lipstickncandy). Thanks!
One of my favorite Michael Douglas movie is “Ghost & The Darkness” because it’s just so tense & scary and Douglas’ performance as the hunter was genius.
Wonder Boys
My favorite Michael Douglas movie is definitely The Game. As if the film wasn’t taught and thrilling enough, the ending was spectacular! What a fantasic surprise at the end (narratively and cinematically)!!!
Ghost of Girlfriends Past was hilarious and sweet
