Star Trek-ed to May
According to JoBlo.com, Star Trek has been bumped from it’s December date and temporal shifted to May 9, 2009. All puns aside, the article continues to speculate about the announcement’s close proximity to the end of the writer’s strike.
To all those who gripe I say, “Get over it.” Trek movies have been lacking as of, oh, the last decade. If JJ Abrams feels that this time off will put the story in a better place, let the man make his revisions. That’s why we were so excited, Trekkie and casual fan alike, when JJ was announced as director. The man can write an engrossing and highly motivated story. Let him save the Trek, even if it puts the goal a mere five months off.
I’m down with that. Aren’t you?
