Switching Around The Suckers

Tag, your turn to be in the film now.

It’s time for the casting shuffle as Zack Snyder’s upcoming film, Sucker Punch, continues filling up their list of stars. As we have previously reported, there had already been one big time casting change due to Amanda Seyfried’s scheduling conflicts. Now more join the mix of the fill ins as actresses Jena Malone and and Jamie Chung hop on board. Most of you remember Jena Malone from Donnie Darko, but the actress slide into Evan Racheal Wood’s spot as the Dragonball Evolution star Chung takes the place of Emma Stone.

Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch centers on a girl confined to a mental institution by her evil stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternate reality to hide from the pain and in that world begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out.

The upcoming film will be set for release on October 8th of next year, all brought up under Cruel & Unusual Films and distributed by Warner Bros. (who seem to have their hands on every other film nowadays). Filming is set to start in the early fall of this year.
