The WWW is staring to have a lot more pull in what happens in films than before, and it started with the news 50 Cent was out of The Expendables. The internet nearly exploded worse than the world did on August 29th, 1997 when news broke that Terminator Salvation‘s ending would ensue with John Connor becoming one of the Terminators. Well, WB took notice and listened to all of mine and your bitching and moaning.
Moviehole is reporting the ending has been changed. According to their insider it’s “a complete [180] of the original film. Works better. Probably not as hard to swallow. Real good though.” Personally this is the best news to come from the picture since Christian Bale became a new soundboard. My excitement for the film was at a dreadful level when I read that ending and I was all but ready to damn this film to the 9th Layer of Hell.
But this says a lot about the power of the internet. Is this going to get to a point where the fans, not the producers, dictate what goes into movies? If so, expect to hear “The Bat…and the man” in a future Batman film when Wayne reveals himself to Gordon.
