Wesley Snipes will join Bad Lieutenant director Abel Ferrara for Game of Death, a film which likely has nothing at all to do with the Bruce Lee film of the same name.

Snipes, who seemed to be at a high a few years ago with a starring role in Blade Trinity, was last seen in the direct to video Art of War II: Betrayal. His career has been rocked by a three-year prison sentence for tax evasion, and he needs a film to get him back on track. Since the details regarding Game of Death‘s plot are sparse, it’s hard to tell if this is the one that’ll do the trick. Snipes will simply play “a politician’s bodyguard who must fend off five of the world’s top assassins.”

Snipes and Ferrara previously worked together on King of New York in 1990. Game of Death will co-star Death Proof‘s Zoe Bell and the always great Robert Davi. Ferrara started production this week in Detroit, Michigan.
