Not too long ago, we brought you the news that Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli had started moving forward with his next project, Area 51, with the casting of three virtually unknown actors.

At the time, Peli was trying to keep the plot of the movie tightly under wraps. Well, Peli continues to want to keep the plot secret, but as so often happens in Hollywood, details have been leaked.

A first draft of the script of Area 51 tells the story of an alien-intrigued teenager and his two buddies who take a trek to Las Vegas to meet up with a former worker from Area 51. He tells the guys about supposed government involvement with human/alien experiments in order to gain alien technology. The one thing he doesn’t have? Proof that such experiments took place.

Luckily, the former worker has extensive knowledge of security around Area 51, and the teens just happen to be equipped with a brand new video camera. They set off to break into Area 51, and capture on film the evidence needed to prove that the legends surrounding Area 51 are true.

Area 51 will be shot in the same home video style as Paranormal Activity, and with the same intention of making audiences question what’s real and what’s not.

There are still no production details concerning Area 51.

Well, maybe not quite alien, but certainly unknown.

Although his name is associated with the most buzzed about film this fall, Paranormal Activity director Oren Peli isn’t falling into the trappings of Hollywood just yet.

For his next film, Area 51, Peli has cast three unheard of actors. Out of Reid Warner, Darrin Bragg, and Ben Rovner, only Warner has had even minor exposure, and that was in small, one-episode appearances on TV’s The Unit and Eli Stone.

Area 51 will be a film similar to Paranormal Activity, in that it too will be a movie done in the style of “found footage.” Although details are being kept quiet, the movie reportedly will follow three teenagers whose curiosity leads them to the much speculated about Area 51 Air Force base.

As with Paranormal Activity, employing unknown actors will add to the believability of the film consisting of real footage caught on tape by its characters.

The “claustrophobic terror” that Area 51 has been described as will see Peli working with a $5 million budget– a significant increase to the $11,000 budget he had for Paranormal Activity. Since the use of unestablished actors will help keep costs low, audiences can expect much of that budget to likely go towards special effects.

Area 51 is being produced by Jason Blum under his Blumhouse Productions banner, with Room 101’s Steven Schneider and IM Global chief Stuart Ford serving as executive producers.

Paranormal Activity has become the most notable midnight screening viral success for horror films since The Blair Witch Project a decade ago, against all expectations and odds. While the film continues to spread into more and more cities, director Oren Peli has taken the opportunity to establish his next project and gather up some financing.

Peli will begin shooting Area 51 next week with the same “found footage” documentary style of Paranormal Activity. Variety calls the film a “story of three teens whose curiosity leads them to the notorious ‘Area 51′ part of Nellis Air Force Base in the Nevada desert.” It’s a pretty standard concept that has breathing room for Peli to innovate.

The great news is that Peli will now be working with a $5 million budget, which seems whopping in comparison to his last film’s paltry $11,000.

Area 51 will be produced by Jason Blum, Steven Schneider and Stuart Ford.

The film was co-financed by Aramid Entertainment Fund and Incentive Filmed Entertainment, with IM Global handling worldwide sales and CAA co-repping the title in the U.S.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY has enjoyed sell out midnight screenings in 33 cities over recent weeks and Paramount is set to expand the film to around the clock screenings in 40 cities this weekend.

Said Peli: “Actually, I’d rather not say anything about AREA 51 except that I am very pleased to be working with the same team who have stood by me for the two or three years it took PARANORMAL ACTIVITY to get into theatres.”

Said Blum: “Oren has already proven that he has a unique gift for using technology and our inherent fear of the unknown to tell simple yet emotionally compelling stories. In this case his canvas is just a little larger.”

Well lets cut to the chase shall we? We all know who Indiana Jones is and if you have been living under a rock for the last 20+ years and have no idea, please continue to let us be and enjoy your rock!

Indiana Jones is back and he is the same old Indy we have come to love! The newest creation from Spielberg and Lucas has brought us an updated but true look at Henry Jone’s latest adventure in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The storyline is a little off for my liking and a bit over the top, but and I do mean but, the film is a must see film. The overall feel brings us back to the last movies in the series and gives us the witty laughs we have come to expect from the wise-ass characters in the Indy films. I almost had to say something to the guy behind me he was so loud, and this was at a private screening!

On to the movie! Have I said it was great film? ITS A GREAT FILM!!!

We first meet up with Dr Jone’s and his crew at Area 51 after he is pulled out of a car trunk. Classic Indy style, always getting captured by the KGB with horrible accents from across the pond. This is where we meet Agent Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett), a soviet doctor who was once Stalin’s right hand woman. She is known for her work on “mind” altering research. Her over the top accent may of ruined her entire performance in my eyes. Not to be swayed by this, her character is easily hated and allows for the film to continue on.

While staying with the era of the 50′s and 60′s, we do see a bit of awkwardness, at least in my mind, with the introduction of aliens. Yes I said aliens! The cars, the clothing, the stores, and even the school rooms fit the bill. The set and everything about the film brought me back in time. And did a great job of it!

All throughout the film we see action. And I mean action. I don’t think it slows down for more than 2 minutes at a time. This film delivers classic Indiana Jone’s. Ancient Mayan temples, tribesmen, KGB agents, Atomic Bombs, car chases, fire ants, and much much more in this great film. Spielberg and Lucas did a great job. From car chases, to extraterrestrial beings, Indiana sees it all, along with his latest side kick, Mutt.

Mutt is played by new comer Shia LeBeouf of Transformers and Disturbia fame. While at the start of the film I was not into him, I began to enjoy his qualities more and more throughout the film. He does a solid job portraying a greaser and the story is inter woven to allow for his lack of style to come through.

The film touches on almost every character we have come to love and know in the past movies. From Indiana’s father to his confidant Dr Marcus Brody; we see a storyline of the past intertwined with the latest creation of Indiana. Some twist and turns and some surprises await you.

This is a MUST see film and really adds to the Indy collection. Make sure you see it in the theaters. Its that good! While I would love to recommend this to all of you, I would shy away from kids 13 and under. It does have the rating for a reason!

I am glad to see Indiana is back, and yes I am sure Indiana Jones 5 will be here before we know it.
