I must say that I haven’t been excited for a movie like this in a while. Ever since the rumors of V for Vendetta shot across the internet, I haven’t been this excited for a film. I must say this is the movie for me to get my hands on. We better see this in the US in 2009. If not I may have to get my boys across the pond to send me a DVD copy of it.

Franklyn Featurette

As you probably can tell, I am big fan of movies such as the newest film from Gerald McMorrow’s latest creation in Franklyn. Ryan Phillipe stars as John Priest, a vigilante, hell bent on revenge for someone he lost or let go. With an alternate equivalent to London, we see a world created in Meanwhile City. The city is watched closely by a religious fervor higher than the big brother we are used to seeing. The film noir style, along with the intermingling stories makes this a must watch in my book.

Franklyn opens up across the pond on February 27th, as far as I know, no one has picked this up for the states. A complete travesty if you ask me!

This movie is coming out of no where and it looks very promising. Franklyn had its first trailer released last Friday and the upload rates for this video were pretty intense. I must say this movie has easily moved into my top 10 must see for this year. It looks very interesting and the nice blend of film noir with a fantasy world looks intense. The only down side to Franklyn is as of now it has no United States release set and its currently only marketed for a February 20th release in UK. I’m sure it won’t stop most of us from trying to see it.

Franklyn Trailer

Every once in a while a movie comes along that makes me want to cry, something so original and frighteningly awesome, it makes me want to curl up and watch it over and over. Now many of these movies I am sure still lurk in the dark of a video store somewhere, but a few I put in this category are V for Vendetta, Momento, and my favorite, The Neverending Story.

When watching these movies, something inside lights up, it’s almost like they are familiar even though I haven’t seen them. Something from my mind is in these movies, a glimpse of my imagination coincides with someone else’s and that is awesome!

Well point in case, this dark noir film named Franklyn has been talked about from time to time on different sites and I have been intrigued to see how it all plays out. Here is a small synopsis: “It’s the story of four lost souls, divided by two parallel worlds, on course for an explosive collision when a single bullet will decide all their fates.”

With the above said, it is on my top 5 list of wanting to see in 2009. Watch the trailer and let me know what you think. This movie looks so kick ass.
