In an article with Vanity Fair last Friday promoting the Avatar re-release, James Cameron didn’t pull any punches when asked about Piranha 3D. Now, Mark Canton, a producer on the film, has issued a response.

In an unsurprising move, Fox revealed that Avatar will be re-released on August 27th to theaters around the country.

Tomorrow, on Earth Day, Avatar will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray. However, you still have a chance to see the film on the big screen. In an interview with the LA Times, James Cameron revealed his plans for an Avatar re-release as well as a sequel.
