Oh my stinking goodness, it’s not even conveyable how excited I am about the return of “Chuck” to TV tonight.

After a Subway footlong campaign saved the show from being canceled last year, creator Josh Schwartz left us with a series-changing twist in the finale. Chuck, who had previously fumbled every physical endeavor undertaken, instantly knew Kung Fu.

The fighting skills were revealed after Chuck chose to download a new Intersect in order to prevent others from getting their hands on it. Chuck being able to take care of himself is a complete game-changer.

“For two years, I kind of sat on the sidelines and watched Adam Baldwin and Yvonne Strahovski — Casey and Sarah, respectively — kick bad guys’ butts and was very jealous of that.” Said Zachary Levi, who plays Chuck. “Not that Chuck should have been able to do it at that point. He was much better at running away or screaming like a little girl. But now that he has this new Intersect and the abilities that come with that, he is able to kind of lend a hand in the kick-butt-ery, if you will.”

Some fans worry Chuck’s new powers will change the show for the worst. I, on the other hand, have high hopes after seeing the Chuck panel at Comic-Con this past summer. While Chuck will have new amazing abilities, they will come as “flashes” like his old Intersect knowledge. No telling when they’ll come or go – or what wackiness will ensue as a result.

In addition to this new twist, this season of “Chuck” promises many fun guest stars including including Armand Assante, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones as villains and Kristin Kreuk, as a Buy More employee. Brandon Routh , the newest Superman from Singer’s 2006 Superman Returns, will also be joining the cast.

“Chuck” premieres TONIGHT Sunday, January 10 with back-to-back original episodes beginning at 9 p.m. on NBC. Two glorious hours. The show returns to its regular time period at 8 p.m. tomorrow with a third hour!

Reported from SuperHeroHype, actor Tim Pocock blurts out the big news on none other than his Twitter account. He says, “Currently shooting Australian TV series till February 2010…then X-men first class.” From what can be gathered, Twentieth Century Fox is wasting no time with getting even more X-Men related films off of the ground. This ‘announcement’ comes out literally a couple of days after X-Men Origins: Wolverine claws onto DVD and Blu-Ray, which could be taking advantage of the still fairly popular franchise.

X-Men: First Class is based off of a 2006 Marvel comic of the same name, putting together the original team from the first issues of X-Men but in a more recent setting. The script is penned by Josh Schwartz, who’s previous work includes Chuck and Gossip Girl. The release date for this Marvel film is to be set for sometime in 2010.

Popular geek site, IGN, caught up with Anna Paquin and asked if she will return to portray the mutant Southern belle, Rogue, in the upcoming X-Men: First Class.

“Absolutely. Yeah,” she revealed. “I would hope I could do a little bit more action next time, though. I kind of find it ironic that I did three big action films and did, actually, no action whatsoever. I mean I got some really amazing emotional story moments, but I didn’t really get to do the physical stuff.”

Rogue is looking for some action

She continued: “You know, as much as I loved doing those films I was kind of like, ‘OK, so when do I get to beat someone up? When do I get to steal some powers?’ You know Sookie [Paquin's 'True Blood' character] gets to do more action than Rogue ever did. So I’m just putting that out there. More action please, for next time.”

I couldn’t agree more.

The recently announced X-Men: First Class includes Iceman, Rogue, Angel, Colossus, Jubilee and Shadowcat. The OC, Gossip Girl and Chuck creator, Josh Schwartz, will pen the scriptm which is aimed to “bring the franchise to a younger generation.”

I’m not sure how much younger we can get here, 20th Century Fox?
