I must say, one of if not the most anticipated movie for us here at AP period! This movie will blow the socks off of most people. I am calling now that the true critics will not like it or even hate it, but I couldn’t care less about them. Night, because as of lately all the douche bags have come out of the woodwork to pick on his films and how they have gone down hill. “The Lady in the Water was terrible, The Village was so so and really didn’t produce”. Well, I enjoyed them both for what they were and would probably watch them again. The Happening is a different story.

The Happening is M. Night Shyamalan’s latest creation and should be called for what it really is, “What the Hell is Happening”? What happened to a storyline like Unbreakable or even The Sixth Sense. What happened to actors doing more than reading off a few lines? This film delivers 1 chilling scene and really was misplaced amongst the story.

The Happening is a supposed thriller that follows a family on the run from a natural crisis. A science teacher named Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberg), runs for his life together with his estranged wife, Alma Moore (Zooey Deschanel), in order to survive an unknown killer all while the world goes into a violent whirlwind of self destruction.

While the directing was okay, the acting was sub par. From the likes of Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel and my personal favorite, John Leguizamo, a lot more was expected. The characters came off as shallow, and lacking in all aspects. At the end of the film I was okay with what had played out for each character. Dead or alive, some seemed better off out of the picture, and others definitely weren’t missed.

For those die hard fans of M. Night – please don’t see this, you will be so turned off. That, and I don’t want to hear you moan for another two or three weeks about this. As for you other folks looking to see this film, I would advise seeing something else like Kung Fu Panda or The Incredible Hulk.

After spending 1.5 hours with Marky Mark and the lack-of-acting bunch, I wanted to cheer on those critics of M. Night. This movie did nothing for the haters of M. Night except fuel the fire.

[imdb]0949731[/imdb]

<strong

The laughs, the outfits, the stories, all bigger than real life in that “Sex and the City” way.

This movie picks up right where an episode would have. What a great movie with lots of laugh out loud moments. The critics and the audience were laughing all the way through this one.

We pick up with Carrie and Big, Miranda and Steve, Charlotte and her little adopted daughter, and of coarse Smith and Samantha in L.A.

Carrie and Big take steps to plan the wedding that Carrie has wanted for a long long time. Miranda and Steve go through some pretty rough times, and Smith and Samantha realize things may not be what they are cracked up to be. Lets not forget about Charlotte and her gorgeous adopted daughter and hairy hubby Harry.

I would like to point out that the movie runs long. This should not stop you from seeing it but it may be a “girls” night out type of flick. I would hesitate to say this will make a ton of cash as it may only hit up the cult following of the show. It may not have a large reach on the mainstream audiences. I would put it up there at number 3 or 2 on the list but not knocking off Iron Man or Indiana Jones.

Guys be warned if you are a little squirmy when it comes to seeing other “man parts”, this is rated R for a reason. Yes there are some pretty nice boobs in the film, but it is a chick flick at heart and definitely hits the nail on the head!

The wife said it best… “If you watched the show you will love it, if you are a guy you may get a few laughs out of it, if you didn’t and you get dragged along by your girl you will definitely see some boobs and possibly get lucky at the end of the night for at least trying!”

I would recommend this to the friends, but probably as a rental due to the 2.5 hour running time.

Choke. Check out the trailer for the new movie.

Synopsis: Actor-turned-director Clark Gregg shows he is as adept behind the camera as in front of it with Choke, a wickedly colorful dark comedy about mothers and sons, sexual compulsion, and the sordid underbelly of Colonial theme parks.

Victor Mancini, a sex-addicted med-school dropout, keeps his increasingly deranged mother, Ida, in an expensive private mental hospital by working days as a historical reenactor. At night he runs a scam where he deliberately chokes in upscale restaurants to form parasitic relationships with the wealthy patrons who “save” him. When, in a rare lucid moment, Ida reveals that she has withheld the shocking truth of his father’s identity, Victor must enlist the aid of his best friend, Denny, a recovering chronic masturbator, and his mother’s beautiful attending physician, Dr. Paige Marshall, to solve this mystery before the truth of his possibly divine parentage is lost forever.

Adapted from the acclaimed novel by Chuck Palahniuk, Choke tickles the funny bone as it dives into darker areas of human behavior. At the heart of the film is yet another staggering performance by Sam Rockwell as Victor. He fully inhabits the character and nails both the comedic and dramatic aspects with indelible timing and delivery. A delicious blend of fresh writing, juicy performances, and sharp directing, Choke is actually quite easy to swallow.

The trailer can be found <a

We all know who Indiana Jones is and if you have been living under a rock for the last 20+ years and have no idea, please continue to let us be and enjoy your rock!

Indiana Jones is back and he is the same old Indy we have come to love! The newest creation from Spielberg and Lucas has brought us an updated but true look at Henry Jone’s latest adventure in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The storyline is a little off for my liking and a bit over the top, but and I do mean but, the film is a must see film. The overall feel brings us back to the last movies in the series and gives us the witty laughs we have come to expect from the wise-ass characters in the Indy films. I almost had to say something to the guy behind me he was so loud, and this was at a private screening!

On to the movie! Have I said it was great film? ITS A GREAT FILM!!!

We first meet up with Dr Jone’s and his crew at Area 51 after he is pulled out of a car trunk. Classic Indy style, always getting captured by the KGB with horrible accents from across the pond. This is where we meet Agent Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett), a soviet doctor who was once Stalin’s right hand woman. She is known for her work on “mind” altering research. Her over the top accent may of ruined her entire performance in my eyes. Not to be swayed by this, her character is easily hated and allows for the film to continue on.

While staying with the era of the 50′s and 60′s, we do see a bit of awkwardness, at least in my mind, with the introduction of aliens. Yes I said aliens! The cars, the clothing, the stores, and even the school rooms fit the bill. The set and everything about the film brought me back in time. And did a great job of it!

All throughout the film we see action. And I mean action. I don’t think it slows down for more than 2 minutes at a time. This film delivers classic Indiana Jone’s. Ancient Mayan temples, tribesmen, KGB agents, Atomic Bombs, car chases, fire ants, and much much more in this great film. Spielberg and Lucas did a great job. From car chases, to extraterrestrial beings, Indiana sees it all, along with his latest side kick, Mutt.

Mutt is played by new comer Shia LeBeouf of Transformers and Disturbia fame. While at the start of the film I was not into him, I began to enjoy his qualities more and more throughout the film. He does a solid job portraying a greaser and the story is inter woven to allow for his lack of style to come through.

The film touches on almost every character we have come to love and know in the past movies. From Indiana’s father to his confidant Dr Marcus Brody; we see a storyline of the past intertwined with the latest creation of Indiana. Some twist and turns and some surprises await you.

This is a MUST see film and really adds to the Indy collection. Make sure you see it in the theaters. Its that good! While I would love to recommend this to all of you, I would shy away from kids 13 and under. It does have the rating for a reason!

I am glad to see Indiana is back, and yes I am sure Indiana Jones 5 will be here before we know it.

<strong
