Hopefully this will be seen across many a pages and actually something done about it.

I have never used Digg before (proof in the pudding). I have known what it is and been on the site but never used it until my friend Vic from Screenrant pointed me to it. Okay so again, I want to say I have never used the site before in my life. So I signed up and grab some online friends that I know and share interests with. To my surprise it wasn’t just for Tech related items any longer. Folks from all over were using Digg for its traffic. Not a bad idea, who knew.

Well least to say I figured I would add a “digg” button to the site and allow you fine folks to digg up my articles if you saw them fit for a digg. With that said this is what comes up when my site is entered into Digg: *This URL has been widely reported by users as being regularly used to spam Digg’s submission process and cannot be submitted at this time.*

I joined Digg in January of 08 and have tried submitting an article maybe 3 times since then. With that said I have sent 5 emails to all of the emails available at digg. I just got one back after sending one again this morning. This is what it said.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us at Digg.com regarding your website. Sorry for the delay in responding.

As you know, Digg is a community-driven website – our community has consistently reported the domain to which you refer as spam.

From our FAQ section (www.digg.com/faq):

Does Digg differentiate between spam and spamming?
Spam is very subjective. Many times, the spammer honestly doesn’t think they are spammers, so we generally leave that up to the Digg community to decide with the report/bury feature. We may delete users who blatantly and consistently submit obvious spam. Additionally, comment spam is against our TOS and will result in an account ban or deletion, depending on the severity. Submission spamming is different because it may be quality content but the submitter is “spamming” every story from their blog/site. While we welcome users to submit their own content, overdoing it often incites the users to mark the user as a spammer, the site as a spam site, and otherwise decent content as blogspam. We recommend considering this before you engage in this activity. Remember, if domains are consistently buried and reported as spam, the site may be banned.

Because unblocking your domain would not be in line with the best interests of the larger Digg community, we will not reverse this decision at this time.

For more information, please see http://digg.com/faq and http://digg.com/tos

Thank you,

- Digg Support Team

/rant on

What kind of shit is that? Pardon my french but this says nothing besides the folks at Digg are pure pussies. They sit there at their desks and don’t even check into a legit request because the site is owned by the community? So what do you do all day? Lazy asses! Owned by the community my ass, who is making the millions of dollars a year because of the supposed community?

Again – use this URL (thanks Sheridan) http://digg.com/search?s=atomicpopcorn.net&submit=Search&section=all&type=url&area=all&sort=score

I honestly don’t care much about digg and the supposed effect it can have on a site, nor do I care if I am even let back into digg. I just find it very pompous of them to hide behind the community and basically say their hands are tied.

/rant off

As a side note – a soon to be famous quote from my friend on “The Dark Knight” was heard saying after he left the theater, “I feel like I just got laid!”

Enough said.
