The Incredible Mr. Limpet, a hybrid live action and animated feature made in 1964 that starred the late Don Knotts, is getting the remake treatment. Kevin Lima, director of incredibly awesome Disney movies like A Goofy Movie and Enchanted, swims himself into the helm of the family comedy. Despite it not being completely out of the ordinary to see an older film get a more modern take on its tale, this particular piece of property has been juggled around for awhile. From Mike Judge to Robin Williams, this cinematic puppy was itching to be remade.

Producing will be the likes of Paula Weinstein (Blood Diamond), Bill Gerber (Gran Torino), James Lassiter (Seven Pounds), Chris Chase (Enchanted) and Akiva Goldsman (Jonah Hex). The film will be under the sparkling supervision of Warner Bros. Pictures, taking up another part of Lima’s schedule along with the live action Tom Thumb and Candyland movies.
