Here’s our first look at Sylvester Stallone’s action flick The Expendables.
This story of an elite group of mercenaries hired to overthrow a South American dictator will be released August 13, 2010. Action-packed isn’t a cliche here, all of your favorite action stars from the ’80s, ’90s and ’00s have teamed up for writer, director and star Sylvester Stallone including Jason Statham (Snatch), Jet Li (The One), Dolph Lundgren (Universal Soldier), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight), Randy Couture (Redbelt), Steve Austin (The Longest Yard), Terry Crews (Idiocracy), Danny Trejo (Heat), Bruce Willis (Die Hard), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), and Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator 2: Judgment Day).
Stallone is betting that his hardcore mercenary story will be more popular with audiences than The A-Team who, at least on television, never killed a man. The fellas over at /film have two new clips from the upcoming film The Wrestler by Darren Aronofsky. Since the premiere of this long awaited film at Cannes earlier this year; Oscar buzz has been all over it. Mickey Rourke plays a retired professional wrestler that the story follows as he finds his way through the independent circuit.
