Taylor Lautner Heading to ‘Cancun’

Taylor_Lautner-r841672If anyone was worried that Taylor Lautner wouldn’t be able to find work outside of the Twilight movies, they can now rest at ease. 2010 will see Lautner starring in Valentine’s Day, working on Max Steel, and working with Twilight studio Summit Entertainment on Cancun.

Summit just recently picked up the action flick, and is set to put Lautner front and center as the film’s star. Lautner will also likely have a role in Cancun‘s production. The young actor has started a production company with his father, who is currently in talks to serve as the film’s producer along with Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen.

Seventeen-year-old Lautner will play a college kid who goes to Cancun with a girl friend, who ends up being taken hostage by a drug cartel. Lautner’s character will, of course, play the hero who has to save the girl and her friends.

Summit’s president of production Erik Feig and director of development Gillian Bohrer will oversee the project for the studio.
