‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ hires ‘Young Guns’ writer for film

Young Guns and Hildalgo scribe, John Fusco, has been hired to write the script for the upcoming live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The film will focus on the origins of turtles Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael and their sensei and rat, Master Splinter.

TMNT-Figures-by-NECAFusco has been practicing martial arts since he was 12 so how does he feel about combining his two passions, karate and movies?

“It is always exciting when you can come aboard a project that bridges the worlds of what you do with what you love,” he said.

The heroes in the half shell debuted 25 years ago in a comic book by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. The edgy ambiance was quickly transformed into a kid friendly toy bonanza and hit cartoon series. It also spawned three live-action films and an animated version in 2007.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will arrive in 2011.
