After such a monumental weekend for Chris Nolan, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and crew..what did you think about the film?
The rest of the United States thought it deserved the top spot in 3 different record breaking categories. Did you?

18.5 million on Thursday night alone brought The Dark Knight into 1st place for highest grossing midnight showings record. Second place goes to “Revenge of the Sith”.
66.4 million on Friday put “The Dark Knight” into 1st place for highest grossing opening day. “Spiderman 3″, which was a terrible movie, is now second with a 59.7 million record last year.
155.3 million for the weekend also brought down the mess that was “Spiderman 3″, and put atop the list a deserving film. “The Dark Knight” is a classic movie in its 5th day at the box office!
Last but not least “The Dark Knight” broke another record, do we care? Not really, but the 4,366 theaters it was shown is was a new record also in Hollywood.
With all of this said, do you really care? Do you want to see it again (I saw it twice already)? Did you even see it?
Let us know what you thought. “The Dark Knight” review is here if you haven’t read it yet. Some great responses in those comments also.

I watched it on Saturday and I got to say that I’m not sure whether or not I like this movie.
To be honest, I don’t know what to think!
I think Heath Ledger played an amazing Joker (R.I.P) but for some reason, I felt that Christian Bale didn’t do an exceptionally good job. (His alter-ego, batman’s voice annoyed me a lot)
I also didn’t like the Katie Holmes – Maggie Gyllenhaal transition. I felt Katie Holmes did a much better job.
The post burn look Aaron Eckhart sports doesn’t make sense to me. I think the effects crew made it too real and did not consider that two-face was missing his left eyelid, resulting in the inability to blink. This means that his eye would’ve dried out…it just doesn’t make any proper sense to me.
I think it is a pity that they killed off Harvey Dent/Two-face in the first movie without him being much of an ‘effect’. Seeing as he is a major villain, this is a disappointment to me as I imagined him to be the next Batman Movie’s villain.
To sum off, i’d give this movie a 7.5 out of 10 stars.
kudos to the makers Dark Knight for their record breaking opening weekend… it’s no wonder there’s talk of another one coming out ASAP
for an adaptation of a superhero with futuristic gadgets that still swings within the realm of reality, the movie really exceeded my expectations. i was really excited with this whole comic-book-to-movie movement, but lately i’ve had to curb my enthusiasm because everything that’s come out relies more on movie magic than actual grit. i’ve created a really nice test for movies these days, and i think it works really well. if you see a movie where the picture quality sucks, but you still love it, that movie’s a keeper. and i think i can pay 5 bucks to see a southparkesque animation of this batman movie, as long as the audio is taken straight off the actual movie itself. that’s how good it is. but you shouldn’t do that tho, because the joker is, i think, this movies crowning achievement.
when i first heard that heath ledger was playing the role of the joker, possibly the best villain ever conceived(even taking into consideration lex luthor), i was disappointed. i think largely the reason for that is the only clear memory i have of mr. ledger’s acting is from “10 things i hate about you.” it was a good movie, but for me, it cemented him as a pretty boy who couldn’t portray someone as ingeniously maniacal and insane as the joker properly.
i took it upon myself to disregard any information about the movie from that point on, and just not see it. spider man 3 disappointed me, as did superman, and the hulk(not the current one tho, that was nice), and i don’t even wanna think about the FF. i thought batman begins was really good, and i figured i’d live my life with that image of the batman forever.
luckily though i totally geeked out and saw the movie. from the opening scene to the end, it was action, drama, and an insane joker(i mean, who in their right mind, would burn several billion dollars??!) at his best. i can’t wait for a third one, and if they go into a third movie that is basically a continuation of the ending from this one, it is going to be even better…cause i think bane will make a showing, and that would be spectacular! remember the bane arc from the comics? i hope they keep the current writers they have cause so far batman’s is 2 for 2 in my book.
I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you down the road!
